Upper East Regional Minister, Ambassador Patience Abayage has suggested to the Media and people from the region and living in the region to stop posting the ugly part of the region on Social Media, as that(putting the region in bad light) has the potential of retarding development.

The Regional Minister made reference to the flooding of pictures of pupils sprawling on the floors of dilapidated structures in basic schools to learn on Social Media.

The Minister is therefore appealing to Media Practitioners who have covered or will be covering such stories in the coming days, to get in touch with her to have them addressed, rather than spreading those pictures on various platforms, particularly, if that Media Practitioner wants solution to the problem.

”… if you have any challenge you want to post on Social Media and you want me to see, you can come into my inbox and let us have a chat” she explained

“… we are constantly flooding Social Media with children who are sitting on the floor and we are making it look as if this is how terrible the region is. … once we are drawing the attention of society and public to the unfortunate situation like that, we should also defend our region positively to the world out there. … let us make it attractive to the world out there.” She lamented

She is however, impressing upon residents and Media Actors to project the beautiful scenery of the region to the world.

Hon. Patience Abayage said this during an engagement with the Media in Bolgatanga.
