National DVLA Boss and Board charge workers to work hard to improve operations

The Chief Executive of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority(DVLA) and members of the Authority’s Board have paid a working visit to the Upper East Regional Head Office for a familiarization and stock taking.

The DVLA Chief Executive, Kwasi Agyeman Busia said the visit was also to enable the Board to meet with employees to enable them identify challenges affecting operations of the Authority in the region and to find ways of make the DVLA better.

“We have come to the North to meet the employees over here and make sure the vision that we are trying to implement nationwide is understood, to understand the challenges that they are facing and ushering us into the new year, to make sure that systems are in place, the new initiative that we have that they understand it and more importantly to listen to them. Because you know, every area has it peculiar challenges that they faced and these are things we are trying to do. I came with the Board Chairman and some other members just to listen to them. Is been 19 months in office and we have not been able to come here and meet with them.” He explained.

When employees, were given the opportunity to share their concerns about their various challenges, issues like; Promotion of staffs, improving working standard of employees, issues of working logistic were raised by employees and so on.

Addressing the employee’s plight and challenges, Mr. Busia admonished the employees to work hard in putting up their best in order to achieve their vision as an entity especially from the beginning of the year 2019.

Mr. Busia also announced plans to create more outpost offices along the Eastern Corridor road from Accra to Ouagadougou. The move he said will help accumulate some revenue for the central government.

The DVLA boss and Board members also paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive of newly created Bolgatanga East District, Hon. Emmanuel Abole Abugre.
