Municipal Chief Executive for Bolgatanga, Joseph Amiyuure Atuura has picked nomination forms to contest in the New Patriotic Party’s Primaries in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency.

Mr. Amiyuure who joined the NPP race in 2015 obtained 238 placing second with Rex Asanga winning the contest with 320 votes.

Ahead of the September primaries for orphan constituencies of the NPP, the MCE has once again picked forms to contest the party’s primaries.

Michael Adoo, Bolgatanga Constituency Second Vice Chairman who doubles as acting elections officer confirmed this exclusively to A1 News.

“So far, we have got only two people who have picked nominations forms to contest and that is Honorable Joseph Amiyuure Atuura and Honorable Emmanuel Aphour. But I am thinking of another person coming to pick the forms”.

Mr. Amiyuure when contacted admitted picking forms to contest but declined to speak on record.

At the time of filling this report, only Mr. Amiyuure and Emmanuel Aphour had picked forms to contest in the primaries.

However, a deep throat source from the NPP has revealed to A1 News that the 2016 parliamentary candidate for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency of the NPP, Rex Asanga is lacing his boots to join in the race.

The source added that a renowned broadcaster and owner of Tanga radio, Agana Bawa Rashid who secured just 13 votes out of the 572 votes cast in the 2015 primaries is likely not join the contest this year.
