The Upper East Regional Chairman of Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), Eric Amoh has called on the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to reprimand it’s Member  of Parliament (MP) for Navrongo Central who doubles as Minister for Aviation , Hon. Kofi Adda

Mr Amoh who sounded worried  and cautious in his address to the Media and Government  Officials in a Press Soiree at the residency of Upper East Regional Minister said, the public posturing of Hon. Kofi Adda in his commentary on issues sends a wrong signal with the tendency  of causing  chaos   especially this elections year if not checked.

According to him , the recent comments by Mr. Adda in an interview on A1 Radio was targeted at demeaning and vilifying other political leaders which should not be countenanced by the NPP as a party .

This is a season that we are going to testify whether Ghana will be peaceful or not and especially when we are entering into political campaigns. Sadly ,just somewhere last week something happened and even though I never called any of the NPP people to complain, I just want to complain from here so that you will take it up . Hon. Kofi Adda , MP for Navrongo, sadly, I must say behaved childishly when he went on air and started attacking colleague politicians especially the Minister for this region. It was sad and I’m very sad . But I will not sit down to allow politicians to use the media to destroy the peace of this region. I won’t allow it. I may not own the medium which the politicians will use but as long as I stay as head of the media , I know the dangers that radio and other forms of media can do and for that matter it is going to be strictly sensible issues that have to discuss if you are a politician” he indicated

Mr. Amoh added that , not only the comments by the Navrongo Central MP were disparaging , it exposed  his immaturity and ‘childishness’ in politics.

He therefore called on the NPP to warn him to desist from such act because the media was not ready to give platforms to politicians who have nothing to offer the public but ‘insults’.

“It is sad again to say that for taxpayers to pay a policy maker to come and insult people just like that I think it is not worth it and I don’t know what the NPP is doing but honestly, I want to tell you in your face that it is embarrassing and whatever word must give to the MP for Navrongo you have to do it. Because in fact , I won’t allow it anymore and I’m going to talk to my radio colleagues that if they know whoever is coming on air to blow the trumpet of chaos comes there, they should drive that person away , it doesn’t matter whether you are a politician , whether an MP or Minister once you want to use the radio to create chaos, we won’t allow it” he added
