A final year student of Gowrie Senior High School (name withheld) in the Bongo District of the Upper East region has been found dead in Sherigu community, a suburb of the Bolgatanga Municipality.
The student who hails from Pologo in the newly created Bolgatanga East District,is believed to be 21 years before he met his untimely death.
A source who confided in A1 News said,the body of the deceased was found in a bush near a refuse damping site in Sherigu.
According to the source, a stench that emanated from the decaying body drew the attention of road users to the site where the body was covered with leaves and stones.
The source further stated that the body of the deceased had both eyes plugged out and part of his head shaved,a suspicion that he was killed for ritual purposes.
Intestines of the young man were also hanging out with traces of multiple stabbings on his stomach and parts of his body.
The informant indicated that the victim who operated a tricycle popularly known as ‘Cando’ for commercial errands was last seen on Friday in the municipality.
Leads to the suspect of the crime have not yet been identified but security agencies have commenced investigations into the gruesome incident.
The body has since been deposited at the Upper East Regional hospital morgue on pending autopsy and investigation.
