Head Pastor of the Holy Ghost Temple- Assemblies of God Church in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, Rev. Dominic Ziba, has cautioned Ghanaian youth especially those in rural areas not to allow themselves to be used as agents of violence in the upcoming general elections.

Speaking to the media, Rev. Ziba noted that the youth are largely exploited by politicians as tools of violence during election periods; and called on them to be vigilant and eschew political activities that will affect the peace of the country.

He said “You are the future leaders of this great nation. So I will encourage you all to be decorum with your utterance as well as never allow any politician to use you for his or her negative gains. The future is bright for you why will you then allow someone uses you for his or her greedy venture.”

Going into the elections, he stressed that the church will continue to preach on the need to uphold peace according to the teachings of the Bible.

According to him, “Ghana is a country I believe God is with us and God already knows what he has planned for us. This country is bigger than any political party and I think we are all aware of that and we will all do the right thing.”

Rev. Dominic Ziba who serves as the Zone ‘A’ Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church in the Upper East Region, believes that the Almighty God will be the best guard against any plotted violence in the country before, during and after the December 7 polls.
