Presidential Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has reiterated his promise to build a district hospital for the people of Bawku; should he be voted back as president.

Addressing enthusiastic supporters in Bawku on Monday, as part of his campaign tour of the Upper East region, the Former President urged voters to ignore the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), and vote massively for the NDC to come back and continue the developmental projects it started in 2016.

“In 2016, we made a promise here that when we win; we were going to build a hospital here in Bawku. Unfortunately, we didn’t win. But I know that 7th December, 2020, we are going to win; and I am repeating that promise here in Bawku that if NDC wins back elections, we are going to build a brand new district hospital here in Bawku.”

“When we say it, we mean it; because we have done it before. We have built hospitals before. If someone comes and promises you a hospital and has never built even a single hospital, definitely you cannot believe in him.” He told the crowd.

Mr. Mahama went on to restate the party’s commitment to constructing all town roads in Bawku should he and the NDC recapture power.

“We know that Bawku is a very important commercial town and must raise the dignity of Bawku by making any visitor who comes to Bawku see that the social and economic infrastructure of Bawku is up to scratch. And one of the major setbacks that Bawku is facing is that the road network is poor. We promised that we were going to build Bawku township roads, we did not finish before we left office and so when we come we are going to do all the town roads in Bawku and put coal tar on it and make it up to scratch.” He said.
