Abayage donates medical essentials to War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo to help fight Covid-19

The Acting Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayaga, has donated medical essentials to the War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo in the Kassena Nankana Municipality of the Upper East Region to help in the fight against the spread of the novel corona virus pandemic.

The donation became necessary after the hospital reportedly ran out of personal protective equipment’s (PPEs) few weeks ago.

The donated items included, 10 thermometer guns, 2,000 nose mask, 6 boxes of Sanitizers, 10 gallons of liquid soap and 30 packs of tissue papers.

Madam Abayage expressed gratitude to the Kassenan Nankana Municipal Heath Director and the staff of the War Memorial Hospital for their commitment to managing Covid-19 cases in the municipality and beyond.

Upon request, she pledged to provide glucometer to the hospital before the end of the week.

The medical director of the war memorial hospital Benson Azure who received the  donation on behalf of the  hospital thanked the Acting Regional Minister for always responding positively to their calls.

He described the gesture as timely and will go a long way to motivate staff in the hospital.

Mr. Azure further confirmed the death of a nurse who contracted the Covid-19 in his line of duty at the hospital.

Meanwhile, he said the hospital had no active Covid-19 case at the time of the Acting Regional Minister’s visit.
