The leadership of a self-acclaimed Concern NDC Youths in Binduri has written to Stephen Atubiga of the National Democratic Congress pleading for forgiveness.
The group which once accused Stephen Atubiga, a communication team member of the National Democratic Congress of collecting goodies from the New Patriotic Party, to campaign for its Parliamentary Candidate, Abdulai Abanga in the 2020 election, has come out to apologize.
The spokesperson for the group, Jambadu Mbabun Sadat said, at the time of their actions they thought they were having evidence against Mr. Atubiga, but later found out none of them -(members of the group) have any evidence against him, hence their decision to apologize for their actions.
A portion of a statement released by the group on Monday, February 1, reads: “… we wish to state that, we have no evidence to the fact that, Mr. Stephen Atubiga took goodies from the NPP, as we speculated in our earlier article, hence we render an unqualified apology.”
It added: “Talking of smartness is neither here nor there and we are deeply sorry for using such words on a person like Mr. Stephen Atubiga and we should have done due diligence rather than spewing such statements and we are indeed sorry for our actions.
We cannot prove with evidence when we said Mr. Stephen Atubiga gave directives to some of his men to vote against Dr. Robbert Kuganab-Lem, since we can’t prove with either a recording or still images hence we say we are sorry.”
But when A1radioonline.com contacted Stephen Atubiga, he admitted that he has been copied, but was waiting to hear from his lawyers.

We wish to state that, we have no evidence to the fact that, Mr. Stephen Atubiga took goodies from the NPP as we speculated in our Article, hence we render an unqualified apology.
Talking of smartness is neither here nor there and we are deeply sorry for using such words on a Caliber like Mr. Stephen Atubiga and we should have done due diligence rather than spewing such statements and we are indeed sorry for our actions.
We cannot prove with evidence when we said Mr. Stephen Atubiga gave directives to some of his men to vote against Dr. Robbert Kuganab-Lem since we can’t prove with either a recording or still images hence, we say we are sorry.
Again, using insulting words like bootlicker was over the board and we wish to render an unqualified apology to Mr. Stephen Atubiga for such abusive language.
We cannot again prove to an instance where he Mr. Stephen Atubiga was sited to have done an open campaign of skirt and blouse hence we render an apology for such utterance.
We also wish to withdraw our earlier submission to the leadership of the party about the allegation against Mr. Stephen Atubiga after a sober reflection of our own article we wrote a few weeks ago.
We can’t say because he visits offices of leadership, he is doing something bad but it was due to rush in pushing out our article without proper cross-checking of evidence.
We wish to also say that, Mr. Stephen Atubiga is harmless and cannot kill even an ant so all and Sundry should disregard all accusations meted out to him and accept him and his views when necessary.
We wish to retract the entire allegation of our write-up due to its lack of legs to stand following the release we made on the above topic a few weeks ago.
We are very sorry to have talked about Mr. Stephen Atubiga’s financial contribution to the campaign because we are not in the position to do so and we really apologize for such comments.
We allegedly stated in our write-up that Stephen Atubiga took goodies from NPP which we have no watertight evidence. We had that from the grapevine and we unreservedly apologize to him for the blunder.
We also talked about how smart he thinks he is, but it was said out of context and we say, we are sorry for using such words on our own brother.
We again made mention of certain electoral areas under his jurisdiction which the reaction that followed was damming to their image. These polling stations include Sakpari, Puayanmiri, Kumpalgoga, Nafkolga, Tambiigu, and Bulungon. We never intended to downplay their efforts as branch Executives in that area not tarnish the hard earn reputation of Mr. Stephen Atubiga, so to this end we are rendering an apology to them and Mr. Stephen Atubiga.
We did mention names such as Awudu Azimbe – Former Kaadi zonal chairman, Alhaji Tahiru – Zeago branch chairman, Aboy- Former Zonal chairman of Nafkolga, who were alleged to have had a meeting with Stephen Atubiga in his father’s guest house a day before the election, we stated that with grapevine source, we are sincerely also apologizing to them. We could have done better and due diligence rather than speculations.
We however wish to state that, at no point did we feel bad to issue this rejoinder, but we are doing it willingly with brotherly love to our big brother Mr. Stephen Atubiga.
In Conclusion, we wish to start that, in the article, we raised damming issues about Mr. Stephen Atubiga and we ask that it should be disregarded and thrown away because it has no legs to stand.
