The overlord of the Bawku Traditional Area, Zug-Raan Bawku-Naba Azoka II announced the ban in an interview at this palace in Bawku.

He has recommended that people in the area should stick to the traditional way of marrying, so that in the event that someone has to marry at all cost, just a few family members or heads will have to meet to perform the marital rites.

No festival is allowed within this period of the ban and the Traditional Council will not tolerate any attempt by anyone or group, to breach this order.

Bawku-Naba in that media interaction also advised schools, churches and other businesses in the Bawku Traditional Area that are still in operation per the directive of the government, to continue ensuring strict adherence to all the Covid-19 protocols, to avoid the danger of being shut down for non-compliance.

Meanwhile, Bawku-Naba is happy with the level of peace and tolerance in the traditional area after the 2020 Parliamentary and Presidential Election and urged the people of the area to continue to live in peace and also contribute to the development of the area.
