The horrendous road accident according to a brother of the deceased, Navoro Lambert happened on Friday 26th when Jagula was returning to Binduri district where he works after spending a night in the Bawku municipality on Thursday.

The late nurse who is from Navrongo but works at the Binduri district in the Upper East region met his untimely death while riding a motorbike from Bawku to join his colleagues to end a 2-day workshop which started on Thursday at the Binduri district health directorate.

Navoro Lambert, a staff nurse at the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital while narrating the sad incident to A1 NEWS, said he received a distress call when the body was first conveyed to the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital 10:30am.

“When they brought him, they requested to find out if anyone knows him. So because others know that I am the brother, I was called. When I arrived, they had already parcel the body. They started a 2-day workshop yesterday. So before the start of the workshop today, everyone was present except him, so his colleagues were trying to reach him to find out where he was. So it means he was in a hurry to the workshop from Bawku to the Binduri district health directorate when the incident happened”.

According to the brother of the late Jagula, some eyewitnesses who narrated the cause of the accident to him said the late nurse tried to overtake a vehicle and run under a trailer that was carrying cement towards Bawku.

“When we got to where the accident happened, the motorbike was smashed and lying under the cement vehicle and the other car that he tried to overtake was also lying at a sideways”.

The body of late Jagula Daniel was moved to the Upper East Regional Hospital morgue for preservation.

“I had planned that we move the body home for burial because he is too young but according to the regional health directorate, the guy died in the line of duty and whatever expenses it is, they have to take care of it. And you know, government institution, they have to write to the appropriate authorities for funds before the body is released for burial”, Navoro Lambert stated.

The late Jagula Daniel was a student of the Gowrie Senior High School and completed in 2012. He is from Navrongo but worked at the Binduri district as a nurse before he met his untimely death.
