
As part of its cooperate social responsibilities, ComAid Foundation Ghana, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) with financial support from ComAid Micro- Finance has issued a cheque of Ghc 3,000 as startup capital to finance the education of 5 orphans of the Operation Mango Tree Children’s Home in Bolgatanga. The NGO will also provide financial support to cater for another batch of 5 children of the orphanage in the next academic year.
The educational fund will be reviewed annually, looking to expand the scope to sponsor more beneficiaries.
This was revealed during on Christmas Eve when the organization donated assorted food items to the Operation Mango Tree Children’s Home at Yorogo near Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
The items donated include 10 bags of rice, 2 boxes of cooking oil, a full bag of washing powder and 1 box of premier bathing soap. The rest of the items include 2 boxes of tin tomatoes, 1 box of mackerel and 1 box of key soap all valued at Ghc 2,341.
Project Coordinator for ComAid Foundation Ghana, Aminu Akparibo said the gesture will go a long way to resolve some of the challenges the orphanage faced. Mr. Akparibo believed the initiative would be enormously beneficial to the orphaned children.
Proprietress of the orphanage, Laadi Ayine was full of joy for the gesture shown them by ComAid Foundation Ghana. Madam Laadi therefore urged other cooperate entities and other social advocacy groups to emulate the example of ComAid Foundation Ghana and ComAid Microfinance.
Administrator of Operation Mango Tree Children’s Home, Ayariga Ismann said the main challenges faced by the home are food, health and education. Notwithstanding the difficulties the home is faced, Mr. Ayariga stated that some children of the home have strived to the tertiary level in their education while some have completed and are now doing their national service.

Speaking on behalf of ComAid Microfinance, Head of Finance and Administration, Gabriel Mohammed Abem stressed that regardless of the challenges of the year, his outfit was committed to staying true to the promise of supporting worthy initiatives and considers the presentation as the organization’s way of giving back to society.
ComAid Foundation Ghana was established in 2013 and located in Bolgatanga with a mission of helping the vulnerable in society. The NGO operates in areas such as health, education, development research, women and children rights, poverty alleviation and water and sanitation.
