
Nigeria High Commissioner to Ghana, Ambassador Ademola Oluseyi Onafowokan was on Thursday 22 January 2015, visited Nigerians residing in the Upper East Region. The one day visit to the region was his first since he assumed office in the year 2012.
Well meaning Nigerians residing in the Upper East Region comprising the Igbo community, Yoruba community and Hausa community gave the High Commissioner and his wife a rousing welcome.
During his visit, he paid courtesy call to the Upper East Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) where he met the Deputy Regional Minister, Daniel Syme. Ambassador Onafowoka who described Bolgatanga as a beautiful place urged the regional coordinating council to also call on Nigerian High Commission when there is a need.
Ambassador Onafowoka on his visit advised Nigerians residing in the Upper East Region to acquire their passports at the Nigeria High Commission in Accra. The Ambassador also promised to send officials from the embassy to produce identity cards for the Nigerians residing in the region by the end of February. He commended Nigerians residing in the region for the peaceful co-existence they have shown to the people of Upper East.
