The Upper East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba has officially closed a two-week intensive training programme on Motorbike and High Risk Operations for Fifty Five (55) officers of the Service. Personnel were drawn from the Bawku, Bolgatanga and Navarongo Police Divisions, the Regional Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) as well as Regional Police Visibility.
The training on Motorbike and High Risk Operations took place at the Police Public Safety Training School (PPSTS) at Pwalugu in the Upper East Region. Personnel were taken through courses such as riding skills, maneuvering in a built-up area, firing in motion and effective firing. Other aspects of the course included; riding and advancing onto a target.
In his closing remarks DCOP Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba commended the trainers and trainees for their dedication and commitment to the training adding that they should deliver on their mandate adequately with the knowledge acquired. He urged personnel to be more resolute to combat crime in the region.
He gave the assurance that Police Administration will enhance police visibility in the region by providing adequate logistics.
Also present at the ceremony were the Director of the PPSTS Chief Superintendent Wilson Aniagyei, the Regional Crime Officer Superintendent Ruben Dugah and the Regional Police Public Affairs Officer ASP David Fianko-Okyere.
