The Songlines Music Awards, United Kingdom has recognized and awarded Stevo Atambire, the Kologo Legend the Newcomer of the year 2021.
Songlines Music Awards is a British-based magazine launched in 1999 to promote, cover traditional and popular contemporary music and fusion, featuring artists from around the globe. Songlines in 2009 launched its Music Awards scheme to replace a cancelled BBC Radio 3 Awards for World Music Awards. It has four categories: Best Artist, Best Group, Best Cross-Cultural Collaboration and Best Newcomer.
Given that, the organizers have recognized the role indigenous music play in contemporary art hence awarded the Kologo Legend for his continued contributions to indigenous art across the globe.
Appreciating the award, Stevo noted that he will continue to promote indigenous art to the world, adding that Kologo music has come to stay and will soon take the center stage of contemporary art.
The Kologo Legend, therefore, thanked the organizers as well as Wanlov the Kubolor for the immersed contributions shown him.
Alostmen is the song that wins the Kologo Legend that category. It features Wanlov the kubolor.
