The leadership of the Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) has honoured the Managing Director of Kacstone Records and Chairman of the Paga Youth Movement, Wenawome Aborah Duriyem, for his contribution to football development in the Upper East Region.

The citation was presented on Thursday, October 29, 2026, during the 16th Ordinary Congress of the Association, in recognition of Mr Wenawome’s support for football development in the region.

His contributions include the sponsorship of the Kassena-Nankana West Division Three League, donation of football kits to teams and schools, as well as financial support to football clubs within the region.

The citation was presented by the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Samuel Aboabire, and signed by the Upper East Regional FA Chairman, Salifu Shaibu Zida.

It recognised Wenawome for his “Long and Distinguished Service to Football in the Upper East Region.”

” Your commitment to the growth of the game, promotion of grassroots football, and nurturing of football talent has made a lasting contribution to the sporting heritage of the region”, the statement reads.

Mr. Wenawome, responding to the recognition, expressed appreciation to the Association for the honour and noted that the Upper East Region has great football talent that needs to be harnessed and given opportunities to develop.

“I want to use this opportunity to encourage football lovers and stakeholders in the region to take interest in football development because we have a lot of talent but a lack of opportunities to unearth those talents.”

He further appealed to individuals and organisations to contribute towards the development of football in the region, regardless of the level of resources available to them.

” I am using this Congress to appeal to all and sundry to use their resources, no matter how little, to support the development of the game in this region.”

The Congress brought together executives of the Regional Football Association, football administrators, club owners, coaches, District FA executives, referees, match commissioners and other stakeholders in the football fraternity.
