The Northern Innovation Lab together with Ghana Tech Lab under the Pathways to Sustainable Employment Programme is organizing the 3rd Startup Summit at Walewale in the North East Region. The summit will focus on creating a single platform where business leaders and investors can meet young entrepreneurs within the tech business ecosystem in the North East Region.

This is the next step of the Pathways to Sustainable Employment Programme. The Startup Summit was preceded by a 6-week intensive business and entrepreneurship training. Participants were drawn from various communities in the West Mamprusi Municipality.

At the 3rd Startup Summit in Walewale, 5 startups will be given the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a 3-member panel. Successful teams will move to the incubation stage where they will receive additional training and financial support.

This came to light when the Director in Charge of Projects and Programmes at Northern Innovation Lab Alfred John Opoku spoke to A1 News in Walewale.

“The Digital Skills Training program is a key facet in our flagship Base Innovation Program that seeks to curb youth unemployment through scaling local innovations and supporting trainees to secure competent employability skills. The Digital Skills Training lasted for a period of six weeks. The local startup summit culminates in the activities of the Digital skills training. The summit serves as a bridge between the startups in your community and some key stakeholders. All the teams in the training program at the time of the summit would have fully developed their projects/startup ideas and are ready to pitch to the community,” he said.

Northern Innovation Lab is an Education Consultancy and human capacity development hub located in Walewale. The tech hub has a strong bias towards digitalization while providing business development, advisory, technology training, educational programmes and support to students, entrepreneurs, SGBs and MSMEs within the North East Region of Ghana.
