The pockets of agitations and misunderstandings across the country with regard to the processes leading up to the election of Polling Station Executives are to be expected. This is according to the Upper West Regional Communications Director of the NPP, Bukari Ali.

Mr. Ali explained that what should be of concern rather is the dissemination of accurate information and the resolution of the problems that may arise out of the disagreements.

“Consistent with internal party arrangements, you will have pockets of complaints, pockets of insinuations here and there. But at the end of the day, you are looking at the larger picture and what the party is set out to do. For example, you hear that we are not getting forms here, we are not getting forms there but in all of these things, you cannot get the right answers on social media platforms, or at party camps. What you do is seek the proper information from regional executives or better still get accurate information from the election committee,” he said.

Mr. Ali continued to say that “there is no smoking gun, I do not know whether people are doing this mischievously or they just do not understand and are unwilling to get answers from the right quarters”. He made this comment in relation to the complaints about the shortage of forms across the country.

The Upper West Regional Director of the NPP said while it is worrying the reports of heated misunderstanding between interested parties and some Constituency and Regional Executives, there is a clear indication that the party is still very viable, the reason for the very energetic show of interest to serve in various capacities.

“It is a bag of mixed feelings. It is worrying that a simple process to elect Polling Sation Executives would be in the public space like that. The flipside of it is that, it tells you that people are interested in the NPP as opposed to the thinking that nobody is interested again”.

“This is the basic level. That is the grassroots level and so if people are clamouring to get into the executive fray, it tells you that the party has life,” he explained.

Mr. Ali encouraged aggrieved persons to channel all concerns through the proper quarterses for redress.
