Future for Africa, a not-for-profit organisation based in Bolgatanga, the Upper East Regional capital, has reiterated its commitment to supporting brilliant children from underserved communities. Future for Africa does this by sponsoring the education of children who have been selected.

Speaking with A1 News, the Project Coordinator at Future for Africa, Samuel Nayang said children, regardless of their economic background should be given the opportunity to fulfil their dreams.

“We believe every child is unique and deserves the chance to dream, to achieve incredible things and to look forward to a wonderful future,” he said.

Mr. Nayang, throwing more light on the project mentioned that “since we launched the Future for Africa Sponsor A Child Project in January 2021, the project has so far mobilised help for 17 children (10 boys and 7 girls ) from varying backgrounds and living in different communities within the Upper East Region of Ghana”.

“So far the project has aided a little girl with an albinism condition from the Sumbrungu Community to have access to a conducive classroom environment. Also, a 7-year old visually impaired boy from the Gambibgo community has been enrolled at the Wa school for the blind in the Upper West Region with all essential material provided for him”.

Through the ‘Sponsor a Child Project’, Future for Africa has “aided a freshman to begin his dream of pursuing Computer Science Program at the C.KTedam University of Technology and Applied Science in Navrongo. These include other transformative journeys of boys and girls at the basic, Junior/Senior high School and Tertiary levels having the opportunity to be in school and to strive for higher education,” the Project Coordinator indicated.

According to Mr. Nayang, the aim of the project is to help break the cycle of poverty for each sponsored child. To do this properly, Future for Africa has partnered with caregiving partner homes like God’s Love Children’s Home in Soe, Nongre Craft and Culture Foundation and other surrounding local communities.

He said “the project is connecting well-meaning individuals (Sponsors) around the world to children from underserved areas and living sometimes in very unusual conditions. Together with our sponsors, boys and girls under this project have equal access to a loving home, nutritious diets, healthcare and quality education. With all these delivered, we are assured of making a lasting difference”.
