Thomas Pearson Wuni, the DCE for the Talensi area has rubbished all claims that he is not in touch with the residents in his area. Mr. Pearson Wuni also negated suggestions that he is not readily accessible to the people in his jurisdiction.

Speaking on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East, the DCE described as “sad” the comments that would suggest that he has abandoned his role as the direct link between the people and the central government.

He said such comments may be coming from persons or sects that are not aware of the many activities of the Assembly under his watch.

“It is so sad. It is good and easy that when you are on the touchline, you will think that he [the player] should have hit the ball with the back of the leg and not the front. Not being in touch with the people cannot be the issue. You do not pick up a bus you have not driven before and be out there, every day jumping around,” he said.

Mr. Pearson Wuni explained that those who suggest that he is not in touch with the people or rather, on top of issues may not be direct beneficiaries of Assembly projects, the reason for their comments.

He said, over the past few months, the Assembly has undertaken a few projects and that people in those communities would attest to the fact that he as DCE, has not abandoned them.

continued to explain that while he supports the idea to use Social Media to communicate directly to the people, communication is supposed to be back with work that is being done or to be done. He continued to say that the Assembly would continue to do the work that is supposed to do, and would communicate same in due course.
