Dr. Bawumia to speak at 2022 Northern Ghana Development Summit in Tamale

The 2022 Northern Ghana Development Summit and Investment Fair is slated for 2nd-3rd November, 2022 at the University for Development Studies (UDS) Dungu Campus, Tamale, Northern Region. 

The 2022 summit is on the theme ‘Agenda for Rapid Transformation and Job Creation in a Secure and Peaceful Northern Ghana’. 

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana will be the guest of honour at the summit.

 At the summit this year, the Northern Development Authority (NDA) is expected to launch a 5 – Year Medium Term Development Strategy for the 5 regions in Northern Ghana. 

The strategic document is on five thematic areas; to create a professional, transparent, thriving and accountable institution that delivers on its mandate by 2027, Accelerate human development in Northern Ghana through access to quality social services, Promotion of private sector actions for delivering broad-based and inclusive economic growth in the Northern Ghana, Sustaining livelihood in Northern Ghana through capacity development of local communities on land governance, biodiversity conservation and climate justice and Social cohesion, peace and security in Northern Ghana.

Senior Officer, Social Development at the NDA, Issah Salifu Musah appealed to entrepreneurs in Northern Ghana to take advantage of the investment and exhibition fair component of the submit to showcase their products and services to the private sector.

“The investment fair is a sort of side attraction to the whole summit but the real business of the day is the launch of the strategic document by his Excellency the Vice President. But they would also be an investment fair like you said where we expect businesses from across the five regions and even beyond if you have the ability and capacity to take advantage of the fair and showcase your products and services so that going forward the private sector in this part of the country going forward can also be recognize as one of the engines of our growth here. So let me use this medium to appeal to our brothers and sisters who are in this part of the North that there’s going to be such an opportunity for them.”
