No school in the Upper East Region was seeded for the 2023 edition of the National Science and Math Quiz.
This means that all the schools from the region that are expected to compete this year would have to battle for a spot at the national level right from the regional qualifiers, zonal qualifiers, and national preliminary stages.
In all, 27 schools were seeded. The 27 include the St. Francis Minor Seminary in the Upper West Region and the Tamale Senior High School in the Northern Region.

In the 2022 National Maths and Science Quiz, Bolgatanga Senior High School was a seeded school. They however lost their seed when they lost their contest at the national preliminary stage.
