The District Chief Executive Officer of the Kassena Nankana West District, Gerard Ataogye, has made a passionate appeal to the Minister of Roads and Highway, Kwesi Amoako Atta, to go to the aid of the District as the district is battling with poor road network.

According to Mr Ataogye, the district is losing  huge investment opportunities due to the bad nature of the roads. He explained that businessmen and women find it difficult to transact businesses because of collapsed bridges.

Speaking on Daybreak Upper East Show on A1 radio, Mr. Ataogye said all the major roads in the district are in deplorable state making it difficult for commuters to ply.

He said, “my brother, the road sector is a huge challenge in the Kassena Nankana West District. From Kandiga to Sirigu is not good, Paga to Sirigu worst, Paga to Kayoro not good, Chuchuliga to Chiana, Chiana to Sandema, Katiu to Kayoro are all not good. And because of that the local economy of the district is down.”

“You can imagine; teachers find it difficult to go to school, nurses find it difficult to go to work, businessmen and women find it difficult to transact their businesses. So when it comes to the road sector, we are highly challenged, I must confess. I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to the roads minister to come to our aid.”
