The District Chief Executive for Talensi District, Thomas Duanab Wuni has, Friday, August 4, 2023 submitted his nomination form to party executives as part of processes to contest the New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries in the area.

The DCE, an accountant by profession, believes the constituency can only get its full development when constituents collectively support him to lead the party towards 2024 elections.

“I know the development needs of the constituency and its youth and being a DCE we can confront it together. All that we need is to show our commitment and as the area is a mining zone, we need to take advantage of it. Of course, we have a lot of youth who have no skills in this area but if we train them, which I’m planning to establish a skills training centre here I think it will be a gateway to employing more youth.”

He made this known at the party’s district office in Talensi.

Touching on his chances of winning the primaries, he noted that though he does not underestimate his opponents, he believes his openness and growth he has brought to the people over the few years as District Chief Executive will make him a preferable candidate.

“My opponents are my brothers and I don’t underestimate them but they will all agree that over the years the NPP in the area through my candidature, the numbers have been increasing and I promised them that this year if I win the primaries, NPP will win the seat in Talensi come 2024 elections.”

He therefore called on supporters and all Talensi youth to be decorum as the campaign process intensifies, explaining that it is an internal contest and his opponents are his brothers.
