The District Chief Executive for Builsa South, who also serves as the Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party in the Builsa South Constituency, Daniel Kwame Gariba, has indicated that winning an internal election for the second time as a sitting DCE is not an easy task. According to him, due to the nature of his work, people have a perception that, as the DCE, he has a lot of resources at his disposal and is sitting on them or does not disburse them fairly, and with this kind of perception, it could go against him.

Speaking to the media after he was declared the winner at the Fumbisi E/A JHS, where the election was held, he said he counts himself lucky and thanks God for being chosen the second time to represent the party in the constituency as the parliamentary candidate.

Mr. Gariba thanked the supporters, delegates, and everyone for their composure, peace, and discipline throughout the election and for giving him the mandate to represent the party. He added that their agenda is to come together as one to unseat the incumbent MP of the NDC, Dr. Clement Apaak, come December 7th, the general election.

“Winning an internal election for the second time as a sitting DCE is not an easy task. Due to the nature of my work, people think I have a lot of resources as a DCE and do not want to release them, and this may go against me. I therefore count myself lucky for winning the election the second time, and I thank God and the supporters for the mandate.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Thomas Adama, who lost the election, told the media that he was so sure of winning the election but unfortunately, that did not happen. He knows everything happens for a reason. He, therefore, needs to go back to the drawing table to find out what really happened. Mr. Adama, who lost the NPP parliamentary primaries for the second time, urged his supporters to continue to have faith in him, for this is not the end of the road.

“I was very sure of winning the election, but things did not happen that way. I, therefore, have to go back to the drawing table and find out what actually went wrong. I also urge all my supporters to continue to have faith in me, for this is not the end of the road for me.”
