The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) in the Upper East Region organized an informative session for drivers and passengers on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023, to ensure road safety, particularly ahead of Christmas, at the Bolgatanga Lorry Station.

The campaign, led by the Acting Upper East Regional Head of NRSA, Zachariah Laari, aimed to impart crucial knowledge on safe driving practices and foster a sense of responsibility among both drivers and passengers.

Speaking to the media during the engagement, Mr. Laari emphasized the importance of adhering to speed limits, maintaining vehicles in optimal condition, and avoiding reckless driving behaviors.

He stressed that responsible driving not only safeguards the lives of passengers but also contributes to the overall reduction of road accidents.

The session featured interactive discussions, instructional pamphlets, and practical demonstrations to reinforce the importance of adhering to traffic rules.

Drivers were also reminded of their responsibility to prioritize the safety of their passengers and themselves, and the potential consequences of neglecting road safety guidelines.

Mr. Laari indicated that the initiative is part of a broader nationwide campaign to reduce road accidents and fatalities, especially during peak travel seasons.
