Diana Aduko Aburiya Asuure, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Bongo, is encouraging residents of the constituency who registered to vote outside of Bongo to transfer their votes back to their home constituency. She emphasizes that this action will empower the people to vote for development and elevate the constituency to the desired level of progress.
“I am encouraging every citizen of our constituency who might have registered somewhere some time ago to try and transfer their votes back into our constituency so that when the time comes, at least, we will all vote for development, we will vote to put our constituency at a level all of us expect,” she stated.
In a bid to support this initiative, Madam Asuure has also promised to cover the cost of replacing voter ID cards for those who may have misplaced theirs. She assured the residents of Bongo that her offer extends to all individuals, regardless of their political affiliations. The Electoral Commission has stipulated a fee of GH₵10 for the replacement of lost voter ID cards, a cost that Madam Asuure has vowed to absorb to facilitate greater voter participation within the constituency.
“There are some people who might have lost their cards but wouldn’t want to come because they haven’t gotten the GH₵10 to pay. I am encouraging everybody in the Bongo district, it doesn’t matter the political party you belong to, once you have lost your card, I have made provision for the replacement of cards free of charge,” she announced.
She spoke to A1 Radio when she organized a skills training in soap-making for 100 women in the constituency. The free skills training, she said, also benefited women of diverse political affiliations, and it is an initiative toward women’s empowerment and economic self-sufficiency. The training equipped the participants with practical skills in producing various types of soap, including liquid and bar soap for washing and bathing.
