The Upper East Regional Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Ayinbisa, has emphasized that the NPP is committed to improving living conditions for Ghanaians, highlighting a drop in inflation rates.
According to the Ghana Statistical Services’ (GSS), July 2024, Consumer Price Index, inflation went from 22.8 percent to 20.9 percent.
“I am saying that this government is delivering and doing quite well. In all spheres of the economy, we are performing,” he said when he spoke on A1 Radio.
He highlighted the government’s achievements across various sectors of the economy, asserting that President Nana Akufo-Addo’s visit to the region to inaugurate the third phase of the Regional Hospital project underscores the administration’s dedication to development.
According to Mr. Ayinbisa, the NPP has played a pivotal role in advancing key infrastructure projects such as the Regional Hospital and the Navrongo water system, describing these as monumental achievements. “You cannot count development projects in this region without including the Regional Hospital and the Navrongo water system. These are monumental achievements.”
In contrast, he criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for its youth manifesto, arguing that it lacks originality and does not offer substantial new benefits to young Ghanaians. “I want to insist that the NDC youth manifesto has nothing new to offer the Ghanaian youth. There is no hope for the Ghanaian youth based on what is presented in that manifesto.”
He specifically questioned the practicality of the NDC’s proposed policies on tertiary education, suggesting that partial fee coverage could burden students rather than alleviate financial pressures. “If they want to pursue that, they should consider a holistic payment plan that includes accommodations and even the books students have to buy.”
Mr. Ayinbisa also anticipated the release of the NPP’s manifesto, promising that it will reveal comprehensive plans aimed at providing hope and tangible benefits for the youth of Ghana. “They should wait until Sunday when we launch our manifesto; they’ll see the kinds of things we will offer to the Ghanaian youth,” he stated.
