Starboy Sarauta, a prominent figure in the Upper East music industry, recently sat down with DJ Lexis on the Entertainment Zone show on A1 Radio to discuss his musical journey.
During the interview, Sarauta revealed that despite his family’s Muslim background, his parents encouraged his musical interests by taking him to church to learn to play instruments, particularly the drums.
His music career began in secondary school when he approached Zazzy, now known as Kundivi Mahama, with his ambition to pursue music. Although Zazzy initially hesitated, he eventually introduced Sarauta to Mr. West, who provided him with the opportunity to record his first verse.
Originally performing under the name 2PM, Sarauta rebranded to his current stage name after completing university.
Sarauta also reminisced about recording his first song, “Ankaasa,” in Tamale with Uncle Ebo for just 15 cedis. This experience was a significant milestone in his musical journey and set him on the path to success.
Fans of Sarauta can look forward to his latest release, a track titled “Inferno,” featuring Mr. K. Be sure to check it out as he continues to make waves in the music industry.
