Ackon Berthold Kobina, popularly known as Wodemaya, a leading Ghanaian content creator, has committed to providing a borehole for the Nangodi community in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region.
Wodemaya, visiting the region for the first time, expressed his admiration for its uniqueness and stated that the borehole would be a gesture of love and appreciation for the people.
Known for showcasing the beauty and diversity of Africa, Wodemaya was invited to the Upper East Region by his friend, Olowo-n’djo Tchala, the owner of Ayeya, a company that produces shea butter and straw baskets in Sherigu.
The invitation was extended for Wodemaya to participate in the commissioning of a state-of-the-art water source for the people of Nangodi.
The initiative to provide this water source was spearheaded by Olowo-n’djo Tchala, who revealed that the project was dedicated to his friend, Jubril Akikbola Agoro, a British-Nigerian who has been a steadfast supporter of his business ventures over the years.
The ultramodern water source is expected to significantly improve access to clean water in Nangodi, a community that, like many others in the region, faces challenges in securing reliable water supplies.
Wodemaya’s commitment to constructing a borehole in Nangodi further underscores his deep connection with the people of the region.
During the event, he expressed his surprise and delight at the warm reception and the unique cultural heritage of the Upper East Region.
“This borehole is a small token of my love for the people of this amazing region,” Wodemaya remarked, emphasizing his desire to give back to the community.
The commissioning event was attended by several notable personalities, including Brenda Orelus, a well-known travel journalist who documented the occasion.
The presence of such distinguished guests highlighted the significance of the project, which is expected to have a lasting impact on the lives of the people of Nangodi.
