John Mahama campaigns on problems, lacks digital ideas – Former Minister

Former Upper East Regional Minister Rockson Bukari has criticized former President John Dramani Mahama for continuously campaigning on Ghana’s problems without presenting concrete solutions.

According to Bukari, Mahama’s approach to governance lacks the vision necessary to effectively lead the country, a flaw he believes makes the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate unfit for another term as president.

Mr. Bukari contrasted Mahama’s leadership style with that of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), highlighting Dr. Bawumia’s focus on what he calls “bold solutions” to Ghana’s challenges.

Speaking from his residence in Gambibigo in the Bolgatanga East District, the former Minister of State emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s emphasis on practical, transformative policies positions him as a more capable leader to steer Ghana into a brighter future.

“John Mahama talks about the problems, but where are his solutions? He had the chance to solve them when he was president, and he didn’t. How can Ghanaians trust him to do better this time?” he questioned.

He further claimed that Mr. Mahama’s tenure left no significant legacy for the northern regions of Ghana, where development has remained stagnant under his leadership.

He also argued that Mahama would only serve one term if elected, while Dr. Bawumia, if successful in the upcoming elections, would serve for two terms, offering Ghanaians a longer period of stable and innovative leadership.

He urged voters to consider this factor when heading to the polls, emphasizing the long-term benefits of Dr. Bawumia’s leadership for the nation.

Touching on the digital revolution, Mr. Bukari asserted that Mahama lacks the digital literacy necessary to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape.

He described the former president as “outdated” and incapable of understanding or leading the country through a digital era that Dr. Bawumia has championed.

“Mahama is too old to comprehend the digital world we live in today. We need someone like Bawumia, who understands digitalization and has been at the forefront of such initiatives in Ghana,” Bukari added.

He, therefore, called on Ghanaians to give Dr. Bawumia the chance to lead the country, stressing that the Vice President’s technological expertise and forward-thinking solutions would drive Ghana towards progress and prosperity.
