Acting National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has described Government’s attempts to fix roads in Upper East prior to elections as fraudulent.

He made this statement when he spoke to the media after an interaction with party bigwigs in the region including all regional Parliamentary candidates and party elders.

According to Mr. Blay, the NDC has taken the people of upper east for granted by deceiving them with the President’s recent ‘accounting to the people tour’ of the region which saw him cutting sod for work to commence on the Bolga-Bawku road and the scrapping of some major roads in the Regional Capital, Bolgatanga.

“They have come to put some earth moving machines and diesel machines here for the president to come and cut sod and after that, they send the machine away. Is it not fraud?”

He observed that the only motorable road in the region is the road linking Bolgatanga-Tamale, the situation he described as an eye saw adding that governing NDC, they (NDC) do not deserve a single vote from the people of the region.

The acting chairman used the opportunity to call on the people of the upper east to join the train of change to arrest power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the upcoming general election to usher the country into greater fortunes.

Asked on when the party was going to release its manifesto for the upcoming general election, the acting chairman indicated that although it is symptomatic of the NDC to steal the ideas from the NPP, it will release its manifesto in the coming days to tell Ghanaians what they have for them.

The Chairman used the opportunity to visit family of late Colonel Francis Miyinla to console them for their loss.
