The Member of Parliament for Chiana–Paga, Nikyema Alamzy Bila, has responded to a recent video captured by A1 Radio’s reporter, Samuel Adagom, and shared on the station’s official Facebook page.
The video highlighted the struggles of teachers attempting to cross the Navio stream due to the collapse of the Manyoro–Navio Bridge, a situation that has left residents cut off from the district capital, Paga, and neighboring communities.
Mr. Nikyema Bila shared the video and pledged to fix the bridge by the end of 2025.
It will be recalled that the Navio Bridge collapsed on March 24, 2022, when a heavy-duty truck loaded with rosewood attempted to cross it.
The collapsed bridge has since caused severe hardship for residents in the area, leading to mobility challenges, difficulties in transporting goods, and the isolation of several connecting communities. The situation has also affected public servants and traders who rely on the route, which connects to parts of neighboring Burkina Faso.
