The Upper East  regional chapter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has launched a new campaign dubbed ‘Adopt a Polling Station Campaign’ to mobilize human resource and raise funds in the region to protect ballot boxes on election day.

The campaign according to the party would support the party’s polling station agents who will be acting as observers at the various polling stations.

Addressing party faithful on Wednesday at the Bolgatanga lorry station, the deputy chairman of the national fund raising committee Kweku Mensah-Bonsu urged sympathizers of the party to do well in supporting the elephant family through this campaign initiative because it will go a long way to protect ballot boxes in their various polling stations and guarantee the party’s victory.

”We have over 29 thousand polling stations and we have come to the realization that if someone can contribute Ghc 500 it will secure a polling station, whatever contributions that is given, will be given to the constituencies .Some can bring foodstuff, money, your time and energy will also be appreciated; and any other thing you think you can help with is welcome,” he said.

However, he cautioned party supporters to avoid donating any item that contains alcohol, because they want their agents to be very clear and vigilant at every polling station.

The Adopt-a-polling station campaign was launched in the region by the former Bolgatanga municipal chief executive Rockson Bukari.

‘Adopt-A-Polling Station’ forms have also been deposited at the various NPP offices across the country.
