Upper East Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency, Hon. Abolimbisa Roger Akantagriwen, has promised to pay arrears owed personnel of the agency in the Bongo District in the Upper East Region by the end of the month of November.

Although most personnel have been paid up to the month of October, personnel enrolled under the Youth Employment Agency in the Bongo District have not been paid since the start of the program this year.

But speaking to A1Radio’s Azongo Albert on the Day Break Upper East show, the Director indicated that the Bongo District has a peculiar challenge with data hence the delay in payment of their allowances.

“Bongo has a special challenge. It was the issue of data that caused the unfortunate situation for us. It is as a result of some personnel leaving out some of the digits of their e-zwitch numbers whiles some also registered for one module but later decided to change to other modules hence the challenge”.

The former Member of Parliament for Builsa South Constituency however, assured personnel in the district that “we are on top of the issue and we will fix that problem. We are very much aware and I know that by the end of November we will pay their allowances and all arrears owed them.

He indicated that the restructured Youth Employment Agency is working in the interest of the people and is bent on eradicating youth unemployment in the upper east region and the country in general.

The Youth Employment Agency has enrolled 4,818 personnel in various modules under the scheme and is hoping to increase the numbers and introduce other modules in the coming days.
