Constituency Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Bolgatanga Central, Abdallah Salifu has asked of the whereabout and role of the wife of the Vice President in the party’s campaign in the just ended general election.

According to him, the wife of the President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia were deeply involved in the campaign of the New Patriotic Party, however the wife of Amissah Arthur was nowhere to be found.

“The campaign team of Nana Addo, his running mate and his wife did so well in the campaigns. But our own Amissah Arthur, where was his wife? she was nowhere to be found. She says she is not a politician.”

He noted that two days to the election, Samira Bawumia was in the Upper East Region to convince the people and that did the magic for the New Patriotic Party in the zongo communities and the Fulani communities because she gave them hope that an NPP government will save them from persecution.

Mr. Abdallah who was speaking to A1Radio’s Azongo Albert noted that disunity in the party also played a key role in their party’s defeat in the just ended election as a result of the divisions created by the kind of primaries held by the party.

He advised that in going forward, the party needs to review their primaries and adopt a system which will see delegates electing Parliamentary Candidates in order to prevent divisions.
