The New Patriotic Party in the Upper East Region has dedicated the party’s victory in the just ended elections to their deceased party Chairman, Adam Mahama.

According to them, without his support and encouragement when he was alive, the party will not have been able to achieve the feat they are currently celebrating.

The New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer emerged winner in the just ended polls after he beat incumbent John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress with 5,716,026 votes whiles the party won three Parliamentary seats in the Upper East Region.

Chairman Adams Mahama died in May 2015 after acid was poured on him by some assailants in front of his house in Bolgatanga and the case has since been in the court.

But in an interview with a1radioonline.com, a member of the party’s communication team in the region, Karim Ahmed Bediako noted that the deceased Chairman played a key role in the victory they are celebrating by building the structures of the party in the region.

He mentioned that the Chairman galvanized and made them believe that if they work hard and dedicate their energy towards the course of getting Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP to power, the country will be a prosperous one which will have a rippling effect on their life.

Mr. Bediako noted that he (Chairman Adams) when alive did not make resources a problem to the party and that after his death, it planted in party faithful some sense of responsibility to ‘fight’ until the party became victorious.

The NPP as a party during its electioneering campaign made numerous promises which people and especially the National Democratic Congress have cast doubts on the party’s ability to deliver on those promises.

But Ahmed Karim Bediako believes that with the sincerity of both Nana Addo and his Vice President, he was hopeful that the party will work hard to achieve all their promises adding that their ability to do that will augur well for their government.

He was optimistic that the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led administration will be a vigilant one to avoid scandals that characterized the outgoing National Democratic Congress’ administration.

“Nana Addo and his Vice President are sincere and principled unlike the outgoing government and they will not sit for any of the appointees to create, loot and share to put the country and party into disrepute. They will deliver Ghana to the promised land,” Ahmed Bediako told a1radioonline.com.
