Public Relations Officer for the Association of Citizens from Bolgatanga, Nabdam, Bongo and Tongo (BONABOTO), Stanley Abopam, has urged the President-Elect, Nana Akufo-Addo to work assiduously to diffuse the yawning perception of ethnocentric tendencies in the New Patriotic Party.

According to him, the NPP is viewed as an Akan party that has total disregard for Northerners and will be in their interest to erase that perception from the minds of people.

In doing this, Mr. Abopam expects the New Patriotic Party to maintain the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), which is working to bridge the gap between Northern and Southern Ghana and provide it with its budgetary allocation in order for the authority to carry out its mandate.

He mentioned that Nana Addo should depart from the character and persona of President John Agyekum Kuffour when he was in power saying “under the Kuffour administration, it got to a time that none of his ministers was from the Upper East region.”

He underscored the need to follow the constitutional provision which stipulates that there should be equity in the appointment of individuals as ministers and government officials in order for it to be fairly distributed.

Abopam prayed the Nana Addo led administration to continue the unfinished projects of the Mahama government to ensure continuity in the country and avoid the wastage in the system.
