The union of natives from the Kasena-Nankana east area of the Upper East region has sent a congratulatory message to the President –elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his victory with a call for the creation of a separate district for them.
UKANAEAST in a statement signed by its public relations officer Prosper Akulia outlined some key development challenges of the area including the creation of a new district, completion of the major road leading to the area and the expansion of the health center and subsequent elevation to the status of a district hospital.
“We hope our development issues which are very known to the general public such as the creation of a separate district, the completion of our major road and the expansion of the K.N.E. Health Center into a district hospital as well as irrigation dams for the youth and women to venture into irrigation farming to earn a living will catch your immediate attention,” the statement said.
The group further lauded the vision of the incoming government in relation to job creation to ameliorate the dire unemployment situation in the country especially among the youth.

The leadership and the entire membership of the United Kassena-Nankana East wish to congratulate you, President elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo for your overwhelming victory in the December 7, 2016 Presidential Elections.
As a development oriented and people focused union, we see your election as President of Ghana as a decision by Ghanaians towards another paradigm of development strategy.
Your vision and policies are in line with the visions and aspirations of the youth of this country whose major aim is to develop their potentials with the right policies and environment. A country with the population of about 27 million people with a greater percent being youthful and mostly unemployed and in some cases not having employable skills, the challenge could be great but we know with God almighty on your side and the nation united behind you, you will deliver to the nation the needed development.
We wish you a peaceful and successful tenure of office as you steer the affairs of our dear nation Ghana.
