Zorkor United Sporting Club began their Division Two Middle League campaign on a winning note after narrowly defeating Soccer Masters SC 1-0 in a fiercely contested opener.

In a match that saw both sides battle for control, it was the Zuarungu-based club that found the breakthrough in the second half. Captain Jonas Agyamentor stepped up when it mattered most, calmly slotting home the only goal of the game to seal victory for his side.

Soccer Masters SC put up a strong fight, but their efforts were dealt a blow when they were reduced to ten men following a second yellow card issued to one of their wingers. The dismissal shifted the balance and made Zorkor United’s task slightly easier as they held on for the win.

Attention now turns to Zorkor United’s next challenge against Berekum City FC, who also secured a 1-0 win in their opening fixture against Paga Crocodile Stars. With Berekum City tipped as one of the favourites in the competition, the upcoming clash is expected to be a true test of Zorkor United’s ambition to reach the Ghana National Division One League.
