President-Elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated Prof. Mike Aaron Ocquaye on his assumption of the office of Speaker of Parliament.
Prof. Mike Ocquaye was elected Speaker of Parliament on Saturday, January 6 during the inaugural sitting of the 7th Parliament of the 4th Republic.
Prof. Ocquaye was nominated was nominated by Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu and was seconded by Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu.
The President-Elect Nana Akufo-Addo took to twitter to congratulate Prof. Ocquaye who he described as a good friend.
Nana Addo’s Post read: “Congratulations to my good friend, Prof Aaron Michael Oquaye, on his election as the Speaker of the 7th Parliament of the 4th Republic“.
Prof. Mike Ocquaye will be assisted by Joseph Osei-Owusu and Alban Bagbin as the First Deputy Speaker and Second Deputy respectively.
