President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has put to rest the raging debate on the creation of new Ministries as he nominates Ministers who will make up his government.

The President this week announced thirty-six nominees to occupy several ministerial positions with the creation of some six new Ministries which have raised several eyebrows with some members of the opposition saying it is a legal way to siphon monies from the National purse.

But speaking at the Flagstaff house today while announcing the last batch of Ministers for the week, the President indicated that all the new Ministries being created will be working under the Presidency and will not be operating as structured Ministries.

He mentioned that these new Ministries will be working under the budget of the Presidency, reiterating his vow to protect the public purse.

“The six portfolios that are coming out as new portfolios, all these six portfolios will be working under the umbrella or under the aegis of the president. They are not standard ministries that are going to be established, they are all going to function as part of the office of the president. The ministers involved will have their dedicated portfolios and will find their being within the budget of the office of the presidency,” Mr Akufo-Addo explained.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has created six new Ministries including the Water and Sanitation, Railway Development, Monitoring and Evaluation, Inner Cities and Zongo Development, Business Development, Minister for Special Development Initiative.
