Public Relations Officer of BONABOTO, Stanley Abopam, has asked people arguing that Information Minister-designate, Mustapha Hamid is from the Upper East Region give him directions to where he hails from in the Upper East Region.

It has emerged after the President’s appointment that his spokesperson who is now the Information Minister-designate hails from the Upper East; something most people in the Region are not aware of.

But speaking to A1Radio on the station’s flagship program, Day Break Upper East on the Regional balance in the President’s Ministerial appointment, Mr. Abopam said: “individuals forcing Mustapha Hamid on the Upper East Region should put a stop to it because, the information Minister-designate hails from the Northern Region”.

Although Mr. Abopam mentioned that he wished the Region would have had three appointees as of now, he was not shocked that the Region has only one because they did not give Nana what he wanted.

“I wished we had about three appointees by now but I am not surprised because we did not give Nana Addo what he wants. He wanted more Members of Parliament but we did not give him so what we gave is what we are getting.”

He was, however, quick to add that since the President is not done with his appointments, it is important that the Region hopes that some of the Deputy Ministerial appointments will come from the Region.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has so far appointed thirty-six Ministers waiting for approval from Parliament. The President intends to announce Regional Ministers next week and discuss Deputy Ministers with the various Ministers when their appointment has been approved.
