Navrongo Liberty Stars FC midfielder Anthony Kantuwine, popularly known as “Sakar,” has been selected to represent the University for Development Studies (UDS) at the All Africa University Games in Egypt.
Kantuwine, a Level 300 student at UDS, will join the university’s contingent for the continental competition, which brings together student athletes from universities across Africa.
The midfielder has combined his studies with football, playing for Navrongo Liberty Stars FC, where he has become a key member of the team.
His selection provides an opportunity for the young midfielder to compete at the university level against players from across the continent and further develop his football career.
Kantuwine is a product of Liberty Stars and has progressed through the club while pursuing his education at UDS.
He is expected to join the UDS team as preparations continue for the competition in Egypt.
For Liberty Stars and football followers in Navrongo, his selection also provides another opportunity for a locally developed player to gain exposure beyond the domestic level.
