The Upper East region branch of the Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), has launched its activities to mark the church’s centenary anniversary celebrations.

The celebrations which began in the month of February with a national launch will see the church organize several church and social activities and events in the Upper East regional capital and other locals.

Speaking  in an interview with Area Head Pastor, Rev. Charles Anim Brako after a flag raising ceremony held on the premises of the church in Bolgatanaga, he indicated that the celebrations are not just a moment of joy but a call to duty for the children of God.

He indicated that the church will use the opportunity granted by the centenary celebrations to extend its frontiers to places where the word of God has not reached in the region.

“We don’t see this as a mere celebration but an opportunity to tell the world what God has done for us so that we can also win some souls for Christ and also establish some churches for God,” he told a1radioonline.com.

He indicated that apart from normal church programs outlined for the celebration, there will be a health walk, clean up exercise and the church will also perform a social responsibility by visiting prisoners in the Bawku and Navrongo prisons.

On his part, Deacon Aaron Akuttey reiterated his pastor’s position with regards to the celebration saying that “it is an opportunity for the church to broaden its frontiers and also win souls for Christ. We need to do more as we grow. The church was built on this foundation and we will not be the generation to destroy that foundation. We will make sure the word reaches every corner”.

He, however, mentioned that the church will in the month of April organise a mega Easter convention on the mobile park in Bolgatanga and therefore used the opportunity to invite people in the Upper East region to come and experience the glory of God.
