A recording artiste in the Upper East region, Capochino Novella has said artiste in the Upper East region mistaken record labels as adoption home; the reason why although many exist but have failed to sign artistes.
Record labels are groups where there is a collaboration between people who make up the label in order to push artistes to achieve a specific aim of becoming the toast of the town and also making some revenue.
But speaking to A1 Radio’s Phatbone on the station’s flagship entertainment show, e-zone, Novella noted that this has not been the case in Bolgatanga and the Upper East region in general.

He said most artistes think been signed onto a record label means you have been adopted.

He noted that the artistes instead of working with their teams knowing certainly that there are no resources available, will leave every work on the team but expects results.
“Here, most of the artistes mistaken a record label for an adoption home. They know that the resources are not available but they won’t want to work with the team but will leave all the work on the record label. Record labels are teamwork and not individual entities.”
The Dancehall artiste noted that the entertainment industry in the Upper East region is riddled with needless artistes ‘beef’ but mentioned that they do not augur well for the growth of an industry which is struggling to be its feet.
