She added that the same group represented the NAVASCO in a debate competition organized by the Ghana Health Service and the school emerged first and represented the region at the national event in Kumasi.

In sports, Mrs. Yizura said the students are doing well. According to her, in 2015 Super- Zonal sports competition, the school placed second in both boys and girls athletics, 1st in basketball boys, 1st in cross country girls, 2nd in handball boys.

In the Northern Zone sports competition in June, the students took all the trophies except 2 adding that a contingent of 140 students and 12 officials have gone to Bawku Senior High School for the supper- zonal and she was hopeful the students will make the NABIA proud again.

She also acknowledged the PTA for the construction of a kitchen and a drying floor and even renovating 8 staff bungalows and the process initiated to renovate the bungalow for the Assistant Housemaster.

Mrs.Yizura was full of praise for NABIA (Old Students body) for their wonderful participation in the reconstruction of the school in many and varied ways.

He further challenged current students of NAVASCO to work so hard to enable them to break the unbeaten records and therefore earmarked a special prize for whichever student who will break his record.

According to him, enhancing the image of award is the most important thing, not the material aspect

Former Energy Minister, Dr. Kwabena Donkor who is a member of the 1977 group of NAVASCO old student was not too satisfied with the current state of school.

He said “I believe NAVASCO should have gone far ahead of where it is today because great people who have to serve this country and who are still in very responsible position have passed through NAVASCO and I believe it is time to give back to our school, especially in the political arena, we have produced more leaders than any other school and we believe that we should rekindle a spirit of giving back to the society and there is no other arena than the arena of education. We are urging the students and the teachers to rekindle their effort for NAVASCO to come back to its former glory.”

Meanwhile, a total of nineteen students and some teachers including old and new were awarded
