Former President John Dramani Mahama has said the National Democratic Congress cannot wrestle power from the New Patriotic Party with a divided front and has asked party faithful and leadership to bury their differences.
Mr. Mahama who was addressing teeming party faithful in the Tamale Metropolis at the party’s maiden Unity walk said what the NDC needs now is not broken front but rather a strong force ready to wrestle power from the New Patriotic Party.
He said the party needs to be a formidable opposition to represent the voiceless by constructively criticizing government to keep it on track.
The former President used the opportunity to shower praises on the Minority caucus in Parliament for keeping Nana Akufo-Addo on his toes.
Speaking on why the National Democratic Congress lost in the 2016 elections, the former President indicated that God wanted to reveal the lies by the New Patriotic Party to the world.
“It was good we lost the 2016 elections for Ghanaians to feel the deceptive nature of the governing NPP then in opposition.”
