Some trainee nurses at Zuarungu Nursing Training College have expressed gratitude to government for restoring their allowances.

“The allowance will help facilitate our learning and we are happy. Thank you Mr. President” said Rahim.

Cynthia another student who spoke to a1radio’s Joshua Asaah stated that “what I have been thinking and my plans for the future to come, this allowance will help me to achieve it”.

Another trainee nurse, Gloria said “In fact we were thinking of how to get money to pay for our handouts and suddenly this money has come, I’m glad”

It will be recalled that the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration scrapped the allowance to allow training colleges admit more.

However, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo during the electioneering campaign promised to restore the allowance if voted into office.

In fulfillment of the campaign promise, the president on Tuesday in Sunyani during a ceremony launched the restoration of the allowance. This kicks starts payment of ghc 4,00.00 every month for each trainee nurse and midwives in the country.
