Member of the upper east region communications wing of the National Democratic Congress, Paul John Danka, has argued that the expansion of street lights to areas within the regional capital, Bolgatanga, will bring enormous growth to businesses.

According to Mr. Danka, when old and faulty street lights are fixed and further expanded within the municipality, market hours will appreciate to make buying and selling in the night more convenient for people in the regional capital.

He further argued that criminal activities will be put on check once the capital town is ridden in every corner with street lights.

Mr. Danka was answering a question from Samuel Mbura, host of Day-Break Upper East when he made those statements. He was of the view that businesses such as Indomie selling, Tea selling and other nightly business ventures were dependent on such service infrastructures.

He urged local authorities to see the economic benefits that come with fixing the poor street lighting system in the municipality and act in accordance to reduce youth unemployment.

The statement of Mr. Danka adds to calls by A1 radio on authorities to have damaged street and traffic lights within the regional capital fixed. It is themed “GetBolgatangaLitNow”
